Rising Star Dance Company – Policies & Procedures

Effective Date: February 17, 2025

 

By enrolling in our program, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by the following Policies & Procedures.

 

1. Tuition & Payments

 

• Tuition is a flat monthly fee based on a 4-class-per-month membership (not per individual class).

• Tuition is not prorated, credited, or refunded for missed classes.

• Auto-Pay is required – Tuition is charged on the 27th of each month for the following month’s enrollment.

• Late Payments – If tuition is not paid by the due date, a $10 late feewill apply, and enrollment may be suspended.

• Card Updates – It is your responsibility to keep your card details current to avoid failed payments.

 

First Month Prorated Tuition & Registration Fee

 

• The first month of enrollment requires a $30 registration fee plus prorated tuition based on the start date.

• This is the only month that will be prorated; all following months are billed at the full monthly rate.

 

Refund Policy for Recital & Fees

 

• Recital fees, costume fees, and other prepaid event fees are non-refundable, even if a student withdraws before the event.

• Registration fees are non-refundable once enrollment is processed.

 

2. Enrollment, Withdrawals & Holds

 

• Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served, month-to-month basis.

• If you wish to withdraw from a class, you must notify us via email at least 30 days in advance.

• If a student drops a class and later returns, a $30 re-registration feemay apply.

• Enrollment Holds:

• If a student needs to pause enrollment for medical reasons, a doctor’s note is required.

• Tuition cannot be paused for vacations or short-term absences.

 

3. Attendance, Cancellations & Closures

 

• Missed Classes: We do not credit, refund, or prorate tuition for missed classes.

• Makeup Classes: If a class is canceled by Rising Star Dance Company, a makeup class may be scheduled.

• Inclement Weather & Emergency Closures:

• If the studio must close due to weather or emergencies, families will be notified via email and text.

• Make-up classes may be scheduled at our discretion but are not guaranteed.

• Performances: We hold two performances per year (December & June).

• Recital fees are mandatory for students participating.

• All recital rules and requirements must be followed.

 

4. Studio Atmosphere & Parent Viewing

 

• Rising Star Dance Company is an open concept studio, meaning parents are welcome to watch classes.

• We kindly ask that you keep any additional siblings occupied with a quiet activity to maintain a focused learning environment for our dancers.

• Parents and students are expected to be respectful toward instructors, staff, and fellow dancers.

• Disruptive behavior may result in removal from the program.

• Parents are responsible for supervising children before and after class.

• Rising Star Dance Company is not responsible for unsupervised children outside of class time.

 

5. Dress Code & Studio Attire

 

• Proper dance attire is required for all classes. Dress codes vary by class and must be followed.

• No outside shoes are allowed on the dance floors.

• Hair must be secured and out of the dancer’s face.

• All required dance wear and shoes can be purchased through our Nimbly Studio Shop https://nimbly.my.site.com/risingstardance.

 

6. Photo & Video Policy

 

• We may take photos and videos of classes and performances for social media & marketing.

• All images and videos are the property of Rising Star Dance Company.

• No unauthorized video recording or uploading of choreography is allowed due to copyright.

 

7. Liability & Waiver

 

• Dance is a physical activity, and participation comes with inherent risks.

• By enrolling, you agree to release Rising Star Dance Company and its staff from any liability for injuries.

• We do not provide accident or health insurance. You are responsible for your own coverage.

 

8. Contact & Communication

 

• You agree to receive email and text updates for class notifications, billing, and marketing.

• You may opt out of promotional messages at any time.
